My Grandpa handed me an 1100 LT-20 20 Gauge and a 742 WoodsMaster .308 Winchester. He bought 2 of those as a Pair from a Guy back in the 80’s. Both have been well taken care of and both are beautiful, glossy looking Guns with Shiny Blued Steel. I get the 1100 out every so often for a Dove Hunt and it nails ‘em every time. Always lube it after every use (primarily up in the action itself,) I’ve never had any Jams with it, but it’s because I take precautionary measures beforehand every time.

Great information! I agree %. Grease not oil. I am a gunsmith. I hate when people use WD-40 on inside rifles or shotguns! It's ok on the outside, but turns into mud inside! WD-40 is mostly mineral spirits. It is absolutely great for many things but I personally don't like it for guns.JMHO.

Thanks for posting. I just picked up a 175th Anny 7400 pending shipment and I probably would have used oil. I had not seen the internals, so a n ice look at the mechanics of it.

It’s a great gun! I think of it as a poor man’s M1A, but in 30-06 like the M1 garand. Mine is in mint condition with left and right handed stocks in BDL.
