That absolutely blew me away man. The equipment he has is pretty mind-blowing, but the expert use of them is what kept me saying, "wow man". The angles he set on his bandsaw but shimming up the plank. And all those amazing jigs he made and used. Got to be a genius to invent some of those jigs. Really great vid, and thank you for posting it.

That is a true skill. People don't see the art in this type of work anymore. I tip my hat to this guy and his handmade masterpiece!

you have done an awesome job on making me completely understand why it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get a custom piece of furniture made for our clients like the one we just had made with a bend.. it was so beautiful. I like to be well informed and experience in a large way many things i know. i have seen and now understand a lot of the basics and processes and the work it takes just from you and now i want to know way more. Thanks for your awesome demonstration of the craft!

Bravo! My son and I just watched with jaws dropped as Mr. Jarvi coerced that Wood Miser to do things even IT didn't know it could do. Clever fixtures and quite a dance routine worked-out to get everything in it's place on the "Rack". And I thought I had to work fast with Shaker oval boxes! That settles it, I'm watching it again!

I'm not a fan of that style of furniture but that was honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Agreed: I tried to get lost in the genius of your dad making that bench. As a woodworker, myself (hack, really), I was ... quite simply ... moved.

Amazing! Only thing is so many people don't even recognize how much craftmanship went into making that bench.
