@Zbreter I actually "waste" quite a bit on screen protectors but for good reason. It protects against scratches that might creep in, even though its scratch resistance may be extremely high. This demonstration shows more of impact damage resistance which is very good. So no problem with you getting a screen protector

Definitely one of the deciding factors on me getting an Asus Transformer Prime. I had a Toshiba NB201 netbook and it lasted only 1 week in my backpack before wear and abuse of a few 10lb textbooks were on it. It still works btw but I've had this thing for a few months and it still looks show quality :)

@ampix0 No, I think it was the wrapper it was in (to stop shattered glass going everywhere) that was getting dented.

@C0mm3n No it is not a "normal" glass, it is chemically reinforced, making it even harder. The crystalline structure of glass is rigid, so no matter what way you try to turn this, it will not dent, and you are dead wrong.

Actually there's something they just didn't show. A material won't react the same on impact as it will on normal tests. Plus, glass is still fragile (cracks move inside glass pretty easily). To fix that we would need some material like some type of plastic to resist impacts. Cracks don't move easily in ductile materials. But it wouldn't be scratch resistant as plastic has a low elastic limit.

lol! You made my day sir <3 The glass can take that pressure easily. Im not sure about the rest of the phone though. A better test would be to put all your weight on a squere centimetre on top of the glass. Cause then your pressure would be as high as getting stomped on by an elephant. Which Ive tried, and it didnt fail. If the glass can get stomped on by an elephant, a car is no problem.

Sharp shocks break glass really easy, tension and pressure take longer to affect it.
