I’ve always thought Bill Murray sounded like Garfield. After I grew up, I figured out Lorenzo was Garfield’s voice and not Bill. I was happy to see Bill voiced Garfield in the movies but...Lorenzo was the voice everyone tried to sound like.

Frank Welker really paid homage to Lorenzo Music and does a great job of blending Music and Murray's voices together. Frank Welker worked with Music before as they both were casted in The Real Ghostbusters together. Slimer and Ray Stantz was voiced by Welker and Music played Venkman. Welker has an impressive catalog of credits.

Lorenzo Music’s recognizable voice embodied the laziness yet lovable charisma of Garfield best, and it’s not even close.

Lorenzo Music was THE perfect voice for Garfield. I can never read a Garfield comic strip without imagining his voice. It’s THAT ingrained with the character.

Wow, Frank welker is really good. He doesn’t have the same tone the way Bernard did, but he nails Lorenzo’s mannerisms

I grew up with Frank Welker, and I think he did it the best as the Garfield I know. But Lorenzo Music definitely knocks it out of the park!

I really miss the voice work of Lorenzo Music. It's impossible to not appreciate the amazing talents of Frank Welker, though.

I grew up with Bill Murray, and Lorenzo is the one that really created the Garfield voice, but I think Frank is the one who absolutely mastered it.

I think we can all agree that the one Scott Beach voiced was basically a pilot for what was to come.

Welker does a decent job, but Lorenzo Music will always be the best Garfield no competition. RIP mr Music, you are still missed to this day T_T

1982-2001: Lorenzo Music voices Garfield in any and all segments in Garfield franchise.

Lorenzo Music was definetly the best and most iconic fit for the character. You can tell at 1:56 that his voice was sadly getting weaker due to health problems. RIP, taken from us far too soon.

Credit to all of the men who voiced the characters but for me, Gerald “Lorenzo” Music IS the voice of Garfield.
