No pet owner or beloved pet should ever have to endure such a horror! My heart broke when I heard this :-(

Please consider suing the state wildlife agency. There are organizations like the Center for Biological Diversity who would potentially file the lawsuit on your behalf, so you could get compensated for the pain you and your dog have had to endure. Even better would be putting a stop to these traps on public lands
