An officer’s final radio call at retirement is probably one of the most emotional moments after a long career. He was a well liked and respected school resource officer by the send off he received.

by the reactions of the kids saying goodbye to this officer, you know he is one of the good ones and really does deserve this.

As a microlight pilot in UK, I'm extremely impressed with your flying, professional and safety skills.. All pilots should take note..

This is the kind of cop we need more of. The fact that the school kids were running back and forth to say bye to this man, that should speak volumes about the type of character he is. Kids are good at sniffin out bs, and this man appears to be quite clean. Hats off to the both of you

Absolutely LOVE THIS ! My dad, who passed away, was a Chicago police officer/detective in the 1960/70s and would have loved watching this. Thank you for your service officer. What a beautiful experience. Thanks for taking us along to watch.

I like how you informed your passenger of every intent prior to executing it. It just shows that you're a very well versed pilot. You know that they're not familiar with the situation and you're letting them know ahead of time just to ease any sort of worrisome thought before it even appears. That's professional right there

That moment when you said, want to get your camera? You know it was all about this officer retiring and his send off. Greatly respect your attention to detail like that. Very professional and respectful to everyone. What a great send off!

I was almost teary at the final call. I had a cousin who served as a dispatcher in Idaho, and they did final call at the graveside. It was a terrible day for rain, with beautiful blue sky’s and bright sun. She had enough time to plan everything, and had confetti poppers for everyone to send us off with a last hooray.

with such horrible things going on in this world all while suffering from horrific combat ptsd, I really needed to see this. What you did and the officer you did it for renews my faith in humanity.

Reminds me vaguely of my own high school officer. He is the kindest, more compassionate guy you’ll meet. He had his last day on the job, and on the way to the station to retire his gear, an emergency call of an active shooter that was able to steal a police car from a downed officer downtown was called in. He decided to pick up the call, when he did not have to. He assisted chasing down the shooter, and helped take him down. He was shot multiple times, including once in the face. Luckily, he made a full recovery, and was marched through the school being praised by everyone, and the school districts and town made huge donations to him and the families of all injured and killed officers and their families.
