I think this is partly one of the reasons why family guy went downhill. It can still be funny but it is not nearly as funny as it used to be. Mostly because so many people on this show became cruel absolute bastards. No one seemed even likable anymore. Chris remained the same for the most part but it is like the worst parts of these characters were taken and amplified greatly. Same with simpsons and other shows. I noticed a trend where people became unusually cruel when they don't really need to be.
